How to use our new judging system

Click the “Annotate” button next to a routine to open that routine in our new judging system, it will automatically open in a new page.

When on the new routine viewer page, you will see the following elements:

• Routine Video Player (left column)
• Routine Information (under video player)
• Annotation Manager (right column)

The Routine Video Player shows the routine video itself. This is also the section that you can add drawings to when an annotation is added. The cog icon allows you to access the playback speed settings. Hint: Press Shift++ (plus) to speed up or Shift+- (minus) to slow down the video. Use Shift+0 (zero) to return to the normal speed.

The Routine Information box shows the current routines data, including the Item Number, Team Name, Program Name, Division, Discipline & Compete Time. A "Share" button in the Routine Information box allows you to share this routine with all public annotations (i.e. any annotation with "Anyone with the link" visibility setting) visible.

The Annotation Manager section allows you to do the following:

• Set the Start Time of the Routine
• Set the End Time of the Routine
• Add an Annotation
• Edit one of your own Annotations
• See other Annotations

Adding an Annotation:

By clicking the "Add Annotation" button, this will add an Annotation at the current playhead time and open the Annotation Composer. Other options when Adding an Annotation include:

• Set the duration: this is how long the annotation remains active on the screen. The duration "wraps" around the annotation point, with the annotation itself centred within the duration. I.e. if you set the duration for 6 seconds, the duration will be 3 seconds either side of the main annotation marker. The duration is shown as a lighter white line on the playbar, with the main annotation's colour based on its type.
• Set the type: current options include Deduction, Legality, Warning and Comment
• Comment: add a comment via a Rich Text Editor
• Draw: add a square, circle or freehand drawing with the ability to edit the shape's colour, or delete the shape when selected. Hint: Press the 'Delete' key while a shape is selected to delete it
• Visibility: set the visibility of the annotation for other users

Editing one of your own Annotations

Select an annotation (either directly via the playbar OR in the annotation list) and press the "Edit" button to edit the annotation.

Viewing other Annotations

By default you can see any other annotations that have their Visibility set to any option which includes "Judges". If an annotation is set to "Just Me" no-one else will see your annotation.

Sharing an annotation

At the bottom of the annotation composer you will see the sharing options:

Just Me: Only you can see this annotation, not even your head judge (or any judge with Edit access) can see these annotations

Judges & EP: Other judges and the EP can see this annotation. A head judge (or any judge with Edit access) can see and edit this annotation

Judges, EP and Coaches: As above, plus coaches who are linked with their club can see this annotation *Note: this feature is currently not active as programs and coaches do not yet have access to Cheercast Rewind.

Anyone with the link: Allows two sharing options (by clicking the arrow next to the Copy button), one which shows the specific annotation focused on the full timeline with all other public annotations OR the specific annotation on its own with no access to any other annotations (even those that are public).

Additionally, a Share button in the Routine Information box allows you to share the full routine along with any annotations that are set to "Anyone with the link".

How to provide feedback

If you notice any issues or bugs, please take a screenshot or screen recording. You can then provide these screenshots or videos in Slack along with a description of what you were doing when the issue occurred so we can try and replicate.

General recommendations & suggestions

We encourage you to be as detailed as possible with both your feedback/suggestions and bug reporting so we can ensure our team are able to quickly and efficiently fix issues and come up with solutions.

Known Issues

We’ll try and keep a list of known issues here so you don’t need to report these!

• Annotation requires comment to save (i.e. save button won’t work unless a comment exists) and no error message is shown to indicate this.
• Visibility option "Judges, EP & Coaches" is identical in implementation to "Judges & EP" as Coaches do not currently have login access to Cheercast Rewind. Judges should use "Anyone with the link" to share annotations with coaches via Hit Zero/other systems.
• Drawing area cut off sometimes when page is resized – refresh page to get correctly sized drawing area for now
• Resizing page causes drawings to incorrectly change position
• Viewing annotations across different screen sizes results in drawings changing their position
• Start and end time markers are shown even when either are not set.
• Using filters/changing pages causes routines to revert to the popup viewer instead of the new full page system
• Drawing line width remains the same even when drawings are resized
• Annotations remain in time order & editing happens inline
