Onsite & Remote Judging
Rewind works both at the venue and remotely. Your connection mode is shown by the connection chip in the top corner of the judging page.
Connection modes
- Auto (default) — connects to the onsite system if it can reach it, and falls back to remote if not. Most judges can leave it on Auto.
- Onsite — you're at the venue, connected to the onsite system. You must be connected to the Cheercast Rewind WiFi network. This enables live capture (below).
- Remote — you're judging away from the venue, from the uploaded routines and the live stream.
While you technically can switch modes from the connection chip if you need to, we highly recommend selecting your actual judging mode to prevent any issues with your connection.
Live capture (onsite)
When you're onsite and connected, you can mark moments as they happen live, without waiting for the routine to upload:
- As the routine performs, press the Add Annotation button (or "A) the moment you see something to note. You can also set the Start and End times.
- Each annotation and it's timestamp are held as pending.
- When that routine is uploaded, any pending annotations that fall between the routine recording time are automatically attached to that routine, so you can open them and add comments or drawings afterwards.
Live stream (remote)
For remote judges, the live stream runs concurrently, roughly 10-20seconds behind live time. The live stream features the ability to rewind up to 4hrs. It is currently not possible to live add annotations while watching the live stream, however this feature is currently in development.
If you open an on-demand routine, the live stream will automatically mute itself, and unmute when the on-demand modal closes.
Onsite judges can open the Live stream as a fall back via the "Live stream" button in the top right corner of the "Recent Uploads" panel, however as this is delayed from live time, it should not be relied upon for live annotations.
On-demand routines (onsite and remote)
On-demand routines are added to Cheercast Rewind immediately after a team finishes performing.
For onsite judges, this means you have access to the routine immediately, as it is served to your device directly from our onsite system
For remote judges, while you will see the routine immediately, you won't be able to access or play the routine until it has finished uploading. Upload times vary by venue and available internet bandwidth, however in most cases this is somewhere between 1-5minutes
There is also a "Recent Uploads" panel to the right of the Live Stream/Live Annotation panels which shows the most recent 3-5 routines (depending on your screen size).
