Judging on the New Cheercast Rewind (V5)
As of November 2026, some events are now judged on the new version of Cheercast Rewind. Your event's access email tells you which version your event uses. Most of the judging page works the way it does now. This article covers what's changed and how to access the new system.
Logging in
The new Cheercast Rewind can be found at rewind.cheercast.com (without the .au).
It uses a separate account. When you're assigned to an event, we'll email you from with a link to set your password. Your password for rewind.cheercast.com.au won't work on the new site.
If you can't find that email, or you forget your password, go to www.cheercast.com/log-in, enter your email address and choose Email me a link.
After logging in, events can be found on the Your Events page. If the event has more than one room, it opens on the room you've been assigned, and you can change rooms from the Room menu.
Visibility settings
Annotation visibility has been updated, and programs can now see annotations shared with them. The new visibility options are:
- Internal only: visible to you. The EP and any judges with edit access can also read it.
- All Judges: every judge on the event, and the EP.
- Program & Coaches: the above, plus the routine's program owner, admins and coaches, who are now able to log in to Cheercast Rewind and access. Athletes and parents linked to the program can't.
- Anyone with the link: a public link that opens without an account.
Share links
When an annotation is set to Anyone with the link, its link appears under it with two copy buttons:
- Timeline view opens the full routine timeline, focused on this annotation.
- Single annotation shows just this one annotation on its own.
Copy the link you want and paste it into Hit Zero as usual.
The Share link on the routine page also gives you a link for the whole routine, which opens every annotation set to Anyone with the link. The Share link can be found in the top right hand corner, above the routine length box. Clicking the Share link button opens a panel that allows you to set, replace or revoke the link, and see how many times it has been opened.
Send to Program
On some events you can email an annotation straight to the routine's program. When an annotation is set to Program & Coaches or Anyone with the link, a Send to Program button appears under it.
- Click Send to Program.
- You have five seconds to click Undo if you've pressed by mistake.
- Once sent, the annotation shows who it was sent to and when.
The email goes to the program's owner, admins and coaches who have logged in to the new Cheercast. If nobody at the program has logged in yet, the button is unavailable and you can choose Send a link instead to share it through Hit Zero.
If you change a sent annotation back to All Judges or Internal only, you'll be asked to confirm, because the program will no longer be able to see it.
Default annotation length
New annotations now start 6 seconds before the moment you mark and end 3 seconds after it. You can change this default in Preferences, using the cog icon in the header.
When editing an annotation, you will be zoomed into the annotation on the player, which will allow you to fine-tune the position of the annotation as well as the lead in and lead out. To exit the zoom mode, click the icon on the playbar, or save to exit the annotation.
Onsite and remote judging
As much as possible, please leave your connection on Auto. If you're connected to the Cheercast Rewind WiFi network, routines are delivered using the onsite system, and if you're not, they're delivered via the internet. The Onsite option has been removed, because Auto already keeps you onsite when the onsite system is available. Choose Remote only if you're judging away from the event.
The first time you judge onsite, Chrome may ask for permission to reach the onsite system. If you see Allow onsite in the header, click it and allow access.
